Lilac aphrodisiac, scent my world.
Your goodness blossoms
blessed with sweet delicacy.
From palest to deepest shades,
side by side on Lilac Lane.
Each alone exudes the beautiful,
together you blend as one scene.
I walk slowly, senses awakened.
Serenity wafts, and in the moment,
all is good in my world.

I can smell them already! Mmmmmm! π₯°

It is an amazing scent…and when there is an entire lane of these glorious bushes…well, it’s just magical!

Oh, if we only could extend and link those lilac/honeysuckle moments; but thanks for providing us with both a reminder and some tangible poetic natural stimuli.

Have you heard of those scratch ‘n sniff stickers? They were popular with kids for quite a while…don’t know if they still are. How I wish I could have put some lilac scratch ‘n sniff stickers on this post rather than just photographs! π

I truly love lilacs. I learned a long time ago though, they are not picking flowers. If you put them in a vase, the moment you set them in, they begin to wilt like crazy and that becomes one sad image…almost as if they’re weeping that you took them away from their neighboring clusters!

Several weeks ago, after clipping armful after armful of lilac branches, I learned it’s possible to “perfume” an entire home. All three levels! Love your beautiful poem.

The smell of lilacs is such a blessing. I love it when I am walking and experience the scent before I know where it is coming from. Then begins the search for the blooming.
