on ship’s deck.
Scenes dealt by Nature
visual poetry to me,
death’s hand to many seafarers of old.
some city-blocks in size
litter the sea.
Imposing ice-capped peaks
spout jubilant spray.
I breathe misty wisps
in frozen air.
Photos from Antarctica – taken yesterday on our cruise. Amazing scenery. Quadrille written for dVerse using the word “poetry.” Apologies to readers that I cannot reciprocate and read your posts or reply to comments – Internet very sparse and expensive here.
Beautiful! Love the poetic icebergs and humpback whales! Hope you are feeling better!
Visual poetry indeed. 😊
The photos are beautiful and so is the description of icebergs and whales in all that cold.
Keep warm, my friend!!
Oh this is absolutely gorgeous, Lillian!💞 Love the “poetic icebergs and humpback whales!”💞
Thank you so much for your poem and your pics of icebergs, something I don’t see every day, good to be reminded, they still exist.
Oh, such Refreshing scenes! 😎🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀
Beautiful… just saw that Raivenne is also writing from Antarctica… are you anywhere close?
Gorgeous. Photos and words. Enjoy the rest of your cruise and glad you made it here.
The last stanza is amazing – It would be wonderful to see humpbacks. Thank you for sharing the photos – Have fun!
Beauty captured in photo and word!
Oh most definitely visual poetry, Lill! You’re obviously having a magical trip – I hope the rest of the journey continues to be so and look forward to more poetry from afar. 🙂
Such a rich and inspirational cruise this has been for you both.
Wonderful words. Just an amazing feeling of vastness. You captured it.
