Day of rest,
unplugged I shall be.
Sing in community,
skip down paths
accompanied
by grandchildren giggles.
Pass out smiles,
celebrate blue skies
bird chatter
and lemonade.
Today
I choose simplicity,
to live in wonder
and believe in love.

Wishing you a thoroughly lovely day, Lillian.

And it was! Listened to our grandkids sing in the choir at church and then went to our 9 year old grand daughter’s soft ball game where she actually caught a ball after a high bounce and tagged someone out at second base. The place went wild! If you’ve ever been to a 9 year old’s softball game you know it goes something like this: every girl gets to bat…and hit…which means the coach pitches to each girl until she hits the ball….yep — it can take a while! And then, after the ball is hit, it’s rarely caught right away…and when it’s caught, the girl throws it wide left or wide right and so the hitter keeps running the bases and makes it into a home run! Each “inning” is one complete rotation of each girl getting to bat because there are rarely outs….which is why the place went wild when Rika tagged someone out! π Probably a much longer reply that you expected…but we just got home from our 5 days taking care of the grandkids (9 and 10) and I’m just getting to reading posts and replies! π

My short reply seems ungrateful, but my 9-year old granddaughter plays soccer so I know how these games go. It’s great fun to watch though!

Not to worry — as twiglets have taught me, the shorter the better! π

Fun fun day it was. Just back from 5 days of taking care of the grandkids…including softball games, violin/piano lessons, church choir, making lunches, meeing school buses, setting American Girl dolls’ hair, listening to practise presentations, playing Four Square. Keeps you young at heart!
