Spread your wings to glide
through sun streaks’ warmth,
to reach and feel the clouds.
In my best dreams
I fly round and round
the confines of my room.
Catch the upward draft.
A lazy float through clear air
colored only by the sky.
Magnificent quiet follows
as you bank left, shift course
to a new everything.
Strap on wings
hold tight
and soar.

And yes….that really is me hang gliding. An absolutely spiritual feeling to be flying across the sun’s rays and only hearing the sound of the wind beside me. The “guide” who I was literally strapped to, started talking to point out buildings etc and I immediately asked him to just stop — so I could feel and see with no other noise. It was amazing!

so agreed 🙂 i go way up a lot an shut my engine off i have a powered hanglder trike 🙂 ,,,then i can jest soar around an hear nothing but the wind is very cool…… can hear things happening down on the ground etc etc also…… so yeah take tandem filghts whenever ya can is way way fun an super addictive! 😎

Thanks so much! 🙂 This was on one of my trips as director of a Global MBA. Did not tell my family about it till I got home and showed them the video. Yep – there’s a video and it actually shows one breathtaking moment of me streaking across a ray of sunlight! Wish I could figure out how to post the video — but it’s on a very small dvd…oh well. Pictures will have to do. It was indeed, spiritual!
