Stuff It Stuff It . . .

Her suppressed feelings:
cacophony of colors
ready to explode.

Written for OLN (Open Link Night) at dVerse, the virtual pub for poets around the globe. Today, I’m hosting and folks can post any poem of their choosing…no required length, format, theme, etc. OR they can write a poem motivated by the painting above: “Mme Kupka among Verticals” painted by Frantisek Kupka (in public domain). It’s displayed at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.

NOTE: come join us Saturday, January 17th for our LIVE session (audio and video) from 10 to 11 AM EST. Go to https://dversepoets.com for the link to join us live.
Come read a poem of your choosing or come to just sit in and enjoy. We usually have folks from across the globe…all in English. We’re a very friendly bunch!

Oh, what an interesting and dynamic interpretation, Lill. So much in those few words–“ready to explode.” Wow!

Besides the succinct interpretation of the painting, you also just described so perfectly the way I feel right now.

    Thanks for that, Lillian.

I love the title, Lill, something I say from time to time, and yes, I feel too that she is ready to explode. I also like the alliterative ‘cacophony of colors’.

Nicely done. I find the art piece fascinating, Lillian. An image of our younger self waiting to emerge into a world of technicolor!

Wow, she is trapped inside the painting, inside herself, and you can feel a powerful transition is on its way. I like the empowerment of this.

The feeling of powerlessness, almost erasure, in the painting is echoed in your words. A striking choice to select and a poem most worthy of it.

hi there!! Taking a chance you may see this comment. Would love advice regarding San Diego. My son and I are considering 5-6 nights some time during the first two weeks in March, our first time there. We want to stay near beaches, will not rent a car, we love Uber. Plan on the Zoo, Sea World visits. Museums and galleries high on my list too. Any other highlights you consider Don’t Miss? I know there is a beachside dining/shopping/entertainment venue? Is it a place you visit? Any info I will gobble up. Text: 541-639-6527. And NO rush! Thanks much.
