Crimson Lady

Bedecked in faux diamonds, rubies and pearls,
feathered cloche hat, and white feather boa,
she appraised the milling crowd.

Her mark still absent,
she remained outwardly calm.
Inwardly, she seethed with anticipation.

Others tried to approach
but her steely cold stare
turned them away without a word.

She was clearly on the hunt.
The barrister would arrive
and only then would she beguile.

“dangerous charmer” indeed! Yep…..you’ve named it correctly! She picks her marks well in advance….and obviously, only the wealthy ones!

I agree with Björn, Lill, she seems to be a dangerous charmer, but I love her style. I used to have a cloche, but not with feathers.

I still have a black felt-like cloche that has a pearl pin on it. I wear it often to church on Sundays in the winter.

Her eyes tell a darker story then she lets on. Be cautious when approaching….

“clearly on the hunt”–she sounds like a most intriguing character! She reminds me of Lady Brett Ashley in The Sun Also Rises!

She’s charming and someone to beware of. I feel like she could be a character in an Agatha Christie novel.

I like the introduction of the barrister and that suggestion of a sub plot! JIM

Such a great interpretation of this image, Lillian. It makes me want to know what happens when the barrister arrives! 🙂
