    Heck yes, I love your word choice with Black Pearls. Lillian, great find on the artwork also. Still beautiful, but there is a strength in it that some artistic renderings miss.

    Dear Lillian,

    Today is my birthday—86! A number I never imagined I’d see. But here we are after a crazed year of emptying our beloved home and getting rid of the dozen mattresses we had accumulated over the years so any family group that came could have a comfortable sleep in our home. Here, at “the home,” we can welcome one person or one couple. I think in my mind that has been the biggest loss because of this move.

    But it was time. The only question was whether we would move to a place here or in Minneapolis where we would be much closer to family. We chose to stay where our doctors are and our friends and our entertainment…. But, it’s a part of a Presbyterian conglomerate that has 31 places in the Mpls/St.Paul area and when the time is right, we will be put at the top of the list for any place up there.

    My Notebook Project still absorbs me, along with caring for Roy. But I’m sorry I have been such a negligent communicator.
