Path to Serenity

We walk quietly through hushed forest.
Tree tops shimmer-emerald in bright sun.
Shaded lower branches,
more soft-hued green.

Leaves wave in gentle wind.
Sunray flickers through foliage,
forms mosaic patterns upon our faces,
upon our soft smiles.

We slowly walk deeper into calm.
Birch trees, conifers, cypress,
scent of damp pines.
Ancient sentinels of passing time.

Powerful strength towers above
as delicate ferns and wildflowers
thrive in earth beside our feet.
We revel in balance before our eyes.

In the midst of raw beauty, we embrace.
Feel strength course through our beings.
We will be back again and again,
witness to the healing of this place.

Glad you enjoyed…..one of the things we loved doing on our cruise that went to Japan was walking through several of their forests. Forest bathing is a cultural thing there….and indeed, is so calming.

It’s like they’ve entered a dream place. Definitely a “path to serenity.” 💙

Yes! Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have this space within walking distance of our homes? A weekly walk though a place like this? 🙂

Me too. We loved one excursion we did on our cruise that was in Japan….we experienced “forest bathing” and it was absolutely divine!

I am grateful to have forests nearby. Oregon is a great place to get lost in nature.

Gorgeousness begins here I’d say! I especially love this part; “We slowly walk deeper into calm. Birch trees, conifers, cypress, scent of damp pines.
Ancient sentinels of passing time.” 😍😍

I thought I’d do a bit of reading and commenting before OLN Saturday starts, Lill, and am breathing calmly after reading your ‘Path to Serenity’. I especially love the contrast in the lines:
    ‘Powerful strength towers above
    as delicate ferns and wildflowers
thrive in earth beside our feet.’
    Nature’s balance indeed.

This is so very very beautiful, and so powerful. I feel the energy, the healing, I feel the balm of love and comfort. You have put tears in my eyes, and in Kathy’s. Thank you my friend, you are special.

I love walking through the trees, preferably now at my time in life, along a small but worn path.
I don’t know how to work the system for joining. I would like to just listen in with my mike closed. Yesterday I was still in PJ’s so camera muted too. I am mike shy, I used mostly Morse Code back then when on the ham radio bands. I still have my license but haven’t been on the air for quite some time.
