Life’s Merry-Go-Round

They lived a merry-go-round life
senses dulled by blurred vision.
Maniacal calliope music,
mired in manufactured grooves.

She rode the blue horse
its mane gilded in gold.
hands cold on metal pole,
forever spinning ahead.

He rode two steeds behind,
eyes wild with lust
chasing her round and round,
never gaining ground.

Desperately out of synch
his up to her down
so close, but always out of reach.
Gold ring dangling in neon lights
they rode on and on and on.

My favorite line is “she rode the blue horse.” Thank you for hosting live readings today (Sat.), my first ever. I don’t understand the comment you left on my blog on an older post that had nothing to do with dVerse. Can you explain. My email is credman@swva.net. Here is the comment I am confused by. I only posted one poem on dVerse this week, The Eulogy: “Good to have you at OLN LIVE today. Sadly though, I must delete this from Mr. Linky. We only post poems to prompts – and OLN, whether live or not – only allows one poem on Mr. Linky per person. We don’t put commercial posts or reviews etc on dVerse….
And again, there is only one poem allowed per person for OLN. On other other prompts, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays when we have Meet The Bar prompts, folks are allowed to post more than one poem.”

I just sent you and email explaining why your second post to Mr. Linky was deleted. Hope it had more clarity. Again, glad to see you at OLN LIVE.
