Life is candylicious with you.
My Hubba Bubba, my Mr. Goodbar.
My Swedish Fish, my Lifesaver.
My Starburst when darkness falls.
You bring a Bit O Honey
to every single moment we share.
Everyday with you is a Payday,
rich in laughter and love.

Written for dVerse, the virtual pub for poets around the globe. Today Mish is hosting Quadrille Monday and asks us to use the word “candy” or a form of the word in our poem of exactly 44 words, sans title. Do you recognize the candy names in my poem? Hubba Bubba, Mr. Goodbar, Swedish Fish, Lifesavers, Starburst, Bit O Honey, and Payday. Had fun with this one! Photo is from this past June: me and my Hubba Bubba!
Wonderfully sweet! 💖💖💖

Delightful! I hardly recognised any of your fancy American candies, though…

Aww I loved the way you worked in those sweets! Beautiful photo as well. It’s so interesting to see the difference between American, Canadian and European candy. My husband’s family have enjoyed some of ours – Aero bars, Coffee Crisp, Smarties, Caramilk, Macintosh’s Taffy….and a few more. We don’t have Payday, Mr.Goodbar or Bit o Honey. It’s fun to try some of them when across the border.

I’m in love with love, this is so full of cuteness. My question is: have you ever called him Hubba Bubba to his face? Just askin’!!! 🤣

Sorry to say the only sweet name I recognise is Starburst, Lill, but what I do recognise is the sweetness of your marriage. You’re so lucky to have every day ‘rich in laughter and love’.
