Quilt me a cacophony of colors,
floral me a scene.
Roses, lilac, freesia, lavender, gardenia,
scents melding into sweet aroma.
Featured like fragrant punchbowl
on caterer’s gleaming sideboard.
Senses tempted to imbibe, I submit.
Feast my eyes, inhale deeply,
engulfed in garden’s ethereal delight.

Such gorgeous colors and vibrant imagery here, Lillian. Love it. Wildflowers are my favorite.

The gardens we saw in Ireland that day were exquisite: some in strict patterning; others absolutely wild with colors and shapes and heights. Those were my favorite.

Sorry, I can’t smell after having COVID last march. Nor taste except fine chocolate. Nice poem though. Oh yes, I’m allergic to perfume but I don’t think I’ve really tested that allergy since the crude.

What a lovely image to illustrate your colourful poem, Lill! A sensory delight indeed. Now I have a longing for a fragrant punchbowl on my dining table. I must pop by the house in our village where they are selling dahlias from their garden…
