let us lie together,
dreaming deeply
until we find an opalescent
magically luminescent forest.
Let us love
beside immortal sprites and spirits,
share dew drop kisses
amongst shimmering leaves.
Wouldst this be our shared lullaby,
that we might ignore the dawn
when reality beckons.
Written for Quadrille Monday at dVerse, the virtual pub for poets where today De asks us to use the word “spirit” (or a form of the word) within our quadrille (a poem of exactly 44 words, sans title). Image from Pixabay.com
Oh, I love the letter shuffle that is “sprites and spirits.” Wonderful!

Glad you enjoyed! Here is it is chilly and winter is upon us with 6 to 8 inches of snow expected tonight. It is indeed a time to hunker down under a warm afghan and dream away 🙂

Oh, that pesky reality. let’s ignore it for a while longer! This poem illustrates the image so perfectly.

Oh yes….sometimes reality can be just to tough to bear. Sometimes it feels so good to just roll over and sleep a little bit more!

This quadrille breathes with the spirit of Shakespeare, Lill! It reminds me of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Truly enchanting, and like an enchantment a place so wondrous that one never wants to leave. I could see getting lost in such a place.

It is classic, Shakespeare inspired, a romantic poem that transports us from droll to magical. I liked the line /share dew drop kisses amongst shimmering leaves/ .

Thank you, Glenn. I’m so late to the reading and writing….have been caught up in the business of the holiday season and in the death of a dear dear friend’s husband of 49 years. It is a reminder that for some, these holidays are anything but cheerful. But – so glad you enjoyed this post.
