Rocking my soul,
surrounded by lush forest
as lazy loons float upon the lake.
Leaves rustle occasionally
while wooden slats creak
back and forth,
back and forth.
My soul dozes carefree,
enveloped in Adirondack calm.

Very calming. We all need places like this to rejuvenate and reconnect with oneself, to allow the “soul dozes carefree”. Wonderful!! thank you for reminding us of this uniqueness.

Nice take on the prompt. Family reunions are the best. Of course there is always that one or two relatives that you just as soon not visit with .

Smiling I am, at your comment. Fortunately, our Adirondacks reunion was totally wonderful! I think the scenery just removes all the stress.

It was a joyful time! And now, just last weekend I was in Denver to be with my sister-in-law and her family. Joyful again! Although no restful scenes like this one š

It was indeed. And now, back in the city, I do enjoy sitting out on our deck in the early morning…but surrounded by city-scrapers just isn’t the same.
