Seasonal Ditty

Winter kisses.
Snowflakes on lashes
tip of nose
caught on tongue.

Winter fury.
White-out curtain
howling winds
sleet and ice.

Winter warmth.
Wooly mittens
snuggle downs
‘neath gramma’s quilt.

Winter leaving.
Snowman drooping
puddles form
days grow long.

Winter gone.
Crocus pop-ups
daffodils shine.

5378634594_1149da7a53_b (1)De is hosting dVerse Quadrille Monday. She asks us to include the word (or a form of the word) “kiss” in our exactly-44-word-poem (sans title). Thought I’d go lighthearted today. Seems to me we can always use some smiles. Pub opens at 3 PM Boston time….come on over for some smooching! Image from Bikes And Books on Flickr.

Love those winter kisses, and the progression of this. It all changes so quickly.

Ooooh I am jealous! Here in Boston we had snow, then sleet then rain then sleet yesterday afternoon and through the night😳

You bring out some of winter’s charms here. But I’m ready for some shining daffodils now. February always feels like a long month.

Winter wears many faces, but all of them have icy lips. We are having heavy snows right now, worst in a decade–what global warming?

Cold lips indeed! Still winter here too. Remember that global warming not only is heating up oceans and earth…but is also giving us weather extreme swings….hence bad winter storms as well.

A beautiful collection of snapshots from winter. The one about cuddling beneath Grandma’s quilt made me smile and brought back some wonderful memories from my childhood.

Oh yes! But I’ve always thought February was a fickle month.
On April 1, 1997 I interviewed for the job that would bring us permanently to Boston….it just so happened to be the day BOSTON had a howling 27 inch blizzard that started at about midnight the night before….I had a spring trench coat and navy linen suit with me! April Fools Day indeed. Poor crocus and daffodils didn’t know what him ‘em!❄️😳
