daze

somedays
I want to skip
through burnt orange
crimson red
fresh fallen leaves
not trudge
with aching limbs

somedays
I want to dance
through cumulous clouds
float in dandelion puffs
not grounded
by flattened soles
empty souled

somedays
never always
absolutes press
somedays
never always
I simply
pass through

Thursday is OLN at dVerse, the virtual pub for poets. That means – no prompt. daze was originally written for June 7th’s dVerse MTB prompt, provided by Bjorn. He asked us to write a poem using “negativa”. A poem whose meaning is derived from what is not, as well as what is. I missed that deadline….so posting daze now. Photo from pixabay.com.

Joyful, right? So much better than just “passing through.”

Dancing in those leaves…..fresh fallen before they turn dry to the touch and crumble beneath our feet. Rather when they’re first fallen and the get kicked up into the air by our feet πŸ™‚

Yup–passing through becomes too close to passing away; most of us are not ready for that. Your sweet anthem to creativity and living in the moment puts a glow in the grayness of this day; typical NW weather.

I would love to be a fairy! I may drop by. I am posting on Real Toads lately, actually for several months now.

I love the contrasts, and I think sometimes we do just pass through and perhaps that is okay. XXX

The older we get the more those “some days” come to mind. Nicely done!

Fantastic expression of feelings. This has authentic voice that I found relatable. The last stanza is powerful. Thanks for sharing.
