Adage

Do not ruminate.
Savor the past but live now,
today has choices.

I remind myself today
and will tmorrow,
happiness is a choice.

Oh that first line demanded my attention. A good reminder that we have more control of our own happiness than we may think.
Norway looks breathtaking. My son is off to Finland in a few weeks!

I’ve ruminated on things for too long. I think I’ll just chew the fat from now on

Hah! Some time ago, I saw a therapist – was having panic attacks (ptsd) after a number of difficult things / hit by a car as a pedestrian, husband’s cardiac arrest (he is good and we’re on year 5 after it❤️) etc. She talked about the difference between ruminating and treasuring, said to expect the best, and that we can’t always choose hat happens to us but we can choose how we react (sometimes difficult to do, but we can) and that happiness is a choice. Thankful for every day. 😊

Read what I replied to Walter😊. Sometimes it takes great strength to make that choice. And it is not equivalent to being content with the status quo. 😊

It was so lovely this morning to be reminded to live in the present moment – it’s really all we’ve got.

For years, a small slate hung in my kitchen on which was written “COUNT BLESSINGS. CHOOSE HAPPY”. I so agree that happiness is a choice. Beautiful poem.

Yes, it is… sometimes very difficult when in times of depression or loss!
