twenty-four-hour news cycle
compromise, an unused skill
science be damned
and civility hiding god knows where
find me the bridge
over troubled waters
to sanity
to respite
clear my head

Indeed. Well said.
Looking back over almost sixty-five years, I don’t think I’ve seen another time when I could say, “You think this is bad? Wait for tomorrow’s news.”

I know. I know. I’m so tired of it all. Great photo and great poem.

Yeppers. I wonder many times where civility, manners, kindness have all fled. I ignore the news. Just going to the grocery O experience all of this. Means is a plague taking over humankind.

It wasn’t long ago that I thought I was living in the best of times, but now I believe my parents did. Yes, they had their challenges but people were much freer then than we are today. They understood respect and were concerned for their neighbor. They taught me strong morals which I carry through to today. “Love thy neighbor as thy self.” I feel for future generations. They are overexposed to so much negativity, disrespect, and sheer self indulgence. Being disconnected and engrossed in a good book is not such as bad thing. ❤
