Film Noir, Take 43

Blissful dream deteriorates.
Breeze flickers, curls, skips, dances.
Spice jar creaks, spills open.
Greenish ghosts spring free,
grinning, shimmering, twisting.
Breathless whisper sounds echo.
Clouds balloon, bubble, spark storm.
Drizzled rose-red blood-shadows
pepper dawn. Hope melts.
Journeyman giggling fearfully,
leaves scarred.
Cue still lull.

Grace hosts dVerse today. We must include the word “creak” in a Quadrille: poem of exactly 44 words, sans title.  Quadrille Mondays occur every other week. Each quadrille series includes 44 Mondays: a different prompt each time. We need only include that week’s prompt in our poem. This post includes all 43 words given in the series thus far: creak, hope, spice, freebliss, dreamfear, flicker, pepperdance, bubble, grin, lull, melt, shimmer, twist, skip, green, breeze, spill, rose, journey, jar, leaves, open, shadow, cloud, spark, cue, breath, scar, curl, whisper, dawn, ghost, giggle, drizzle, still, echo, sound, storm, spring, and balloon.  Bar opens at 3 PM Boston time.  Come join us!

YES! Would love to see your take with all the words. I thought “creak” would be easy to add but it’s the removal of one word AND fitting in “creak” that becomes tricky. Only one of my own words left: “deteriorates.” So — will have to really shuffle next time. I live in fear that someone will have the last word be something like “pickle!” LOL

Thank you, Toni. Just one of “my own words” left: “deteriorates.” We’ll see if I can finish the challenge next time! Glad you enjoyed.

Thank you, Grace. Will be kind of sad to leave my Film Noir Series with word 44. However, to eliminate my own last word “deteriorates” and add the 44th….we’ll see.

Well….each one comes out a bit differently…who is grinning and giggling…adding the Journeyman a few words ago. Next time, my last word “deteriorates” will disappear (it had a short run of just this post) and there will be none of “me” in Take 44. We’ll see………

Another sterling work, anther poetic wonder & triumph. You had me at “pepper dawn”. I did one last week with all the words; surprising how many combos one can find in the hive of words.

I don’t think I saw yours, Glenn? I was out with an extreme allergy in my eyes…couldn’t really do much reading or writing for almost a week. Will have to go back to your site to find it….
It’s really a challenge…not so much to fit in the new word but to remove another “of mine” that doesn’t “belong there” or “fit” into the 44 anymore. As in, next time, all 44 words will be somebody else’s! LOL

Awesome! A quadrille using all 43 words! It flowed so well. I am waiting for week 44 to try out with all words. I tried earlier with 38 words ;)But this one is amazing.

So glad you enjoyed. We’ll see if there’s a Finale to the Film Noir Series! Only one word to delete: “deteriorates” — when the final 44th word is given. The trick is eliminating all our own words!

A tinge of humor cleverly done!

Love your title and you found a way to collaborate those quadrille words naturally to create an eerie vibe!

Glad you enjoyed. We’ll see if there’s a finale with word 44…and if the journeyman still travels in his dreams / nightmares!
