Childhood Memory

Navy blue jumper
white Peter Pan collar blouse,
ICS grade school uniform.

Hand reaches into font
presses damp sponge,
wet hand crosses self.

Holy now,
I skip into the sun.

Written for Misky’s Twiglet #15, “rushing waters.” A twiglet, the shorter the better, is a phrase to prompt a flow, thought or memory. Yep,  that’s me in third grade!

What a gorgeous and happy little girl! I love your take on rushing water, and the innocence and joy in it. Thank you, Lillian.

Fun one to do. I still do remember those sopping wet sponges of holy water in our church.

I like the picture too. You do look happy and haven;t changed much since it was taken.
