Sadly, so very true.
I remember, before retirement, always telling new staff, if you make a mistake, come tell me, and also come with ideas how we can counter with solutions. Mistakes always happen – we’re human. It’s the solutions that really make us the best we can be.
Sadly, in this poem, errors made anger and were never owned.
So nice to chat with you from Ptown this AM!
This piece was “born” from memories — an assignment in my class to think about a conversation you had more than once, and see where it takes you. This first line “popped” into my head. You are so right in your response. …and the power of words…even when blurted out….Why I majored in communications 🙂
How rare it is to hear someone just humbly take the blame for his/her own actions.

Ah, if we could see the outcome of our actions leading up to the crash, before it happens – now that would be something.
Intense piece, Lillian!
