Iowa fireflies
dance with stars
against the black backdrop
of eternity.
Once trapped
within a glass jar
their magic dims
like childhood dreams
whimsical
wistful
gone.

Hi Lillian,
Fireflies do embody that ethereal magical quality necessary to kiddom.
This is a lovely piece – the comparison of two natural glowing wonders

Many thanks. Glad you like it. Our children loved fireflies! Plumbing? Well…..tomorrow they cut out the old ones and put in the new ones…..water still off from 8:30 to 4:30 Monday through Friday, all of this week — don’t know about next week. We’ll go to a museum tomorrow 🙂

You’re welcome, Liilian.
Yes, we used to catch fireflies all the time 🙂
Good luck with the building repairs – hopefully it’s not to painful a process. You’re already making lemonade outta wet lemons 😉 Enjoy the museum. I don’t know about your weather, but here in the Hudson Valley – we’ve got an exquisite day!
