Murmur me
sweet poetic words.
Play softly
fingertip arpeggios.
Mirror my passion.
Bounce you to me to you,
rhythmic cadence
tonal harmony.
Blood moon
burns ebony sky.
Come lie with me
in lunar lust.
Staccato.
Allegro.
Crescendo.
Nighttime symphonic love.
Created for dVerse, the virtual pub for poets, where it’s Quadrille Monday (poem of exactly 44 words, sans title). Kim hosts, asking us to include the word “egg.” I’ve included “egg” within a word: arpeggios. Past prompts for this quadrille series have included burn, murmur, poet, and bounce: all are included here. We may always use a form of the word . Pub opens at 3 PM Boston time. Come join us! Postscript: I think this may not include all the words afterall….as in I think there may be others in this Quadrille series and I may even have listed some wrong ones. I claim Bermudaful scenery outside my window as an excuse….but the poem stands as is 🙂
Nocturnal naughtiness 😉 Great job hiding the egg too.

So much music in such night…. more intense than a moonlight sonata.

Ah yes….I think the moonlight sonata is the seduction perhaps and this one the doing? 🙂

I love the musical metaphors, Lill: ‘fingertip arpeggios’ is my favourite – it’s where you hid the egg!

Thanks, Kim. I mentioned “arpeggios” in my explanation as I feared some would say, “where’s the egg?” 🙂

Love this especially; “Blood moon burns ebony sky. Come lie with me in lunar lust.”💖 You have a wonderful way with words 😊

Love all those musical words. Arpeggio is such a lovely word, anyway, how clever to notice the egg hidden in it.

Thanks, Sarah. I was thinking at first about Easter egg hunts….and then jumped to the idea of “hiding” the egg…so thought of words that contained “egg” and then went from there. Music to my ears, er eggs, so to speak 🙂

Jo: also wanted to tell you what a powerful write you did for this prompt. For those of us who conceived easily, we forget that the gift of bearing life is not a gift all are given. Some choose not to have children. But for those who are childless not by their own choice, there can be a hidden pain we do not see. You’ve written about those feelings so well in your post.

Wow! This poem mirrors the one I just read of Bjorn’s. Only this is more music as his is air. Wonderful!

Hah…yes, when I read Bjorn’s I was thinking we were “in tune” on this one 🙂

Yes, my first thought reading the prompt was of the old-fashioned Easter egg hunt. I did explain where the egg was in the comments after the poem….just in case some thought I’d ignored the prompt 🙂 Glad you found it!

You are really working this one well! “Where’s Waldo?” Where are the eggos?? I was wondering where your were heading with this one. Nice incorporations.

Thanks! I figured I’d better give up the hiding place in the eggsplanation, in case some folks didn’t see it right away and I’d be said to ignore the prompt 🙂 Glad you enjoyed!

A classic way of including the hidden ‘egg’, Lillian. Never thought of it!
