…and Your Son Shall Leave You…

rijKEyjqT

I was alone, but for a moment
amidst pealing bells.
Suddenly you were there
tear streaked face buried in my chest.
Memory flash of newborn nestled into me.
And then you were gone
dancing joyfully,
her white veil trailing on your arm.

    Ah, Lillian.
You’ve captured the moment many mothers love and ‘fear’ – when our sons grow into the caring and thoughtful men we know they are destined to become. And to think they were once weighed in ounces…
    Beautiful.

Hope you’re almost returned to 100%

        Here’s to feeling 100% 🙂
Nice long weekend arriving for feet in the up position along with the hand holding the wine – well – juice glass first 😉
        Feel better, Lillian.

This totally made me cry. My little boy just started kindergarten and this really hits home that my time with him is fleeting. I will treasure ever moment

Well….I think that’s good….right? We want our writing to connect with people and this piece, a frozen moment in time for me, struck a chord with you.
We truly have our children as children for such a short time in our lives. Kindergarten is a big step — one of many. Ah I remember all those “first school day” pictures — complete with lunch boxes and back packs, and the kids getting taller and taller each year 🙂
Thanks so much for connecting with me today! Happy I am.
