The Dawn Always Comes . . .

Hearts take the hand. Trump failed.
Dummy hand hapless in play.

Donned in camouflage
revealed as the ill-literate.
Sees no value in a paradigm shift.
Pair a dimes? Chump change.
No interest in cents at all.
Narcissistic I-land, far off shore.

You are no sire,
no knight with Excalibur.
Rather bellicose bellyacher
night or day, wielding tweets
perched upon a thin wire,
manufacturing a storm.

Hailing, thundering, “MY RAIN”
even as it is about to end.
Drowning in the fetid swamp
created by your squalls.
Your reign shall cease
and the sun will shine again.

Linda is hosting OLN at dVerse, where we can post any poem of our choosing: no prompt. I decided to engage in a bit of word play and ended up with a political piece – perhaps a poem of witness again? Photo from pixabay.com

Oh happy day, callooh callay! I enjoyed the wordplay and these lines in particular, Lill:
    ‘You are no sire,
    no knight with Excalibur.
    Rather bellicose bellyacher’.
    So true.

Absolute relief and pure joy as Pennsylvania was called and the nightmare announced its end!

As did the announcement of Pennsylvania for Biden. We can all breathe again knowing January 20th, regardless of the Senate run-off outcomes, will at the very least, usher in sanity, honesty, maturity, and inclusivity!

Hurrah, roar on, sister, sun breaks are shining through the gloom. Trump will start his own TV network, and will continue to stir turds, but he will return to his sad idiotic clown role soon.

Well…..only if he can run his own tv network from jail. Go NY state….get him in court and make him accountable. No pardons will skirt his day in court in NY!
PS: I almost dedicated this poem to you, Glenn!

Nope. Will never happen. At that point, I do think the quiet Republicans would speak up. January 20th can’t come soon enough.

I love the word-play here, Lillian, and hope to share your more positive outlook for the future, but I’m thinking there’s STILL a LOT of darkness to be endured. Glad to see him (hopefully) gone soon, though. Thanks

Covid will still be rampant here on January 20th with many problems and challenges to face BUT the corrupt Trump family will be out of the White House. That is the key!

January 20th will come. The corrupt Trump family will be out of the White House. Yes…..many challenges yet to be faced, the least of which is Covid but….there will be sanity at the helm again.

I enjoyed the playfulness in this! There is hope in the end and I do hope we can get our country back on track quickly. We never know the future (especially tomorrow is Friday the 13th in 2020) but I do feel like this country is due for some hope and normalcy soon. Your picture made me smile as well!

….well, not if he has to answer to all the lawsuits pending in the state of New York, where a pardon will have no effect. He may end up in jail.

Such a relief to be free again. No way to preside over a powerful nation with blatant lies and high-handed ways more so complicated with the woes of the pandemic. Great wordcraft Lillian!
