My moon-blown dreams flutter flit.
‘Tis but water-spoken words
afloat in tide-looped waves,
gently wending their way
wave-seeping through my synapses.
Meanderments that mesmerize,
a ringed-sea within my mind.
Eyes sea-scape.
Islands seemingly afloat
shimmer on reflection,
my ‘scape
from dews of storm-clad life.
I seem to levitate
hover somewhere, not here.
No sound but water-softness,
lapping as if heaven-circling.
Eyes stair cross waters,
climb surreal to starry scrim.
Leaning against ship’s rail,
all railings retreat to insignificance.
Serenity lives upon the seas.

I hope you are enjoying your trip Lillian. That last line was perfect. I also like the capture of that moment of the sea-scape:
I seem to levitate
hover somewhere,

Thank you, Grace! It continues to be a marvelous journey.
I have been missing dVerse and sadly did not do NAPOWRIMO this year.
I especially enjoyed a shrine located in a beautiful forest….Japanese enjoy “forest bathing”…a sense of immersion in the calm of a woods. There will be a poem coming for that 😊

you certainly did not leave your creativity behind Lilian – thanks for joining in with such sensational imagery:
“wave-seeping through my synapses.
Meanderments that mesmerize,
a ringed-sea within my mind.”
Enjoy the journey!

Hi Lill! It’s so lovely that you took time from your exciting trip to write and post your poem. I’ve missed reading your poems but have enjoyed following you both on your travels. I love the ‘water-spoken words afloat in tide-looped waves’ and ‘No sound but water-softness, lapping as if heaven-circling’. I can see you in my mind’s eye, serenely leaning against the ship’s rail.

So glad you enjoyed! It has been an incredible trip. Just now docking in Hiroshima. I expect our all day tour will have some very somber moments.

What a wonderful way to describe the night on water… you used the compound words just right.
Hope all is well on your trip

Wonderful, lyrical and serene take on your cruise and the prompt. We all miss you when you travel; big hugs for stopping by. One small nitpick–in the last stanza I think you meant /Eyes “stare” (not stair)–though eyes-stair could be an abstract compound word.

So glad you enjoyed Glenn…actually I deliberately used stair to go with the next line of climbing to the starry scrim – play on words, stare and stair.
Will be a busy somber day in a bit as we are just docking in Hiroshima and have an all day tour booked.
