WordssdroW

This world puzzles me.
DonalddlanoD?
Oh god! That dog?
Loves his mirror.
Stands with star rats
who emit time warts,
straw guns snug in raw war.
Pals slap pals, live evil lives.
It’s like quaking jello out there,
and we’re getting our stressed desserts.

It’s a puzzler poem. There are words written as a mirror image and words, almost next to each other, that are a different word when spelled exactly backwards. Can you find them?  Hints/key given below.
Today’s Quadrille,  written for dVerse , must include the word “puzzle” or a form of the word. Mish is hosting and has us in a quandry!
HINTS / KEY: Mirror image of Donald is? Spell these words backwards: god, star, emit, warts, guns, raw, pals, live, and stressed.

I had fun with it…..shifting words, trying to make them into sense as they sat beside each other….evil and live etc. Glad you enjoyed.

Brilliant, Lill! I used to make up palindromes for my pupils when I was teaching. Step on no pets! I love the dog that ‘Stands with star rats who emit time warts’ and ‘getting our stressed deserts’!

Thanks, Kim. I enjoyed having fun with the prompt….but a palindrome wiz I’m not. I think it takes a special kind of spatial ability to do that! 🙂

Let’s do the time warts again! Very clever. You obviously had some time to put this together and you did such a fine job.

This abstract foray into our national quagmire is delicious–our minds ran in parallel traces today. I’ve never seen this form before–time to use it at MTB?

I’ll need to read this in the morning when I’m more awake, it’s a fantastic construction though.

Thanks, Carol. I did give hints at the end of my comments to easily find the word reversals 🙂 PS: I always read in the AM after the prompt (unless I’m hosting), with my hot coffee in hand. Love my morning ritual 🙂

Yes….that’s one of the more “fun” ones….slap pals, snug guns, and live evil are a bit more not-good?

this is very well constructed and word-played …. and stunning for its more than apt summation of such an ongoing “scenic reality” …. all in 44 to boot. you earn a gold star for this!

Yes, and fresh tomatoes and green beans from the garden. I can’t eat as much sweet corn as could when I was younger .. adds to much to my waist line now. 😦

I’m thinking that orange jello looks slightly familiar.

Time warts! I know exactly what you mean. We live inside one. It’s amazing how turning words (or is it sdrow?) on their heads hits the bull’s eye… I should try palindromes.

So clever, though it took me a minute.
That orange jello and time warts! Amazing that you got all this in in 44 words!
I think it should be stressed desserts though?
(My younger daughter learned how to spell dessert when she was toddler from hearing people spell it out loud. She’d say she was ready for “d-e-s-s-e-r-t.” 🙂
