People . . .

Some exhale fresh air
with every breath.
Others spew pollution
from every pore.

Some sow smiles
like Johnny planted trees.
Others hurl thunderbolts
of anger and fear.

Some believe in we
live in the our.
Others tout two,
us versus them.

Some stand tall
no matter their stature.
Others think small
no matter their height.

Some people hope
as they pray for the others.
Willing the others
compassion for all.

OK, your photo is perfect for the piece, a white dove on the wing. I really dig your piece/peace. Somehow I can hear you clearly as you assess the pickle most of us are finding ourselves in, I made a comment on FB–Trump is bringing out a new book-AMERICA FOR DUMMIES. But your “hope” for our future is infectious.

Apologies for the late reply. In Bermuda now and internet connections are spotty. So very glad you enjoyed this one. You’ll see….today’s trumps another and in a few days’ there will be a gardner’s manual…Nature Knew….which I think, my friend, you shall enjoy. We are all trumpeting hope in many voices….resistance.

I think in reality there are more of the peaceful than those dividing… but it’s a matter how much they scream. But we have to stand up for what’s right.

    I love this stanza:

    “Some stand tall
    no matter their stature.
    Others think small
    no matter their height.”

Thank you, Iris. So glad you enjoyed — and especially this stanza which I do think is a truism!

It comes down to intelligence, really….social/emotional intelligence. That is what humanity stems from, in my opinion. Fear and hate are seeded early and some never find the sun.

Emotional intelligence…I once took a workshop on this topic. Very powerful attribute indeed.

I usually hate Poetry with a capital P. Too Pretentious. Too Precious. But I like yours. 🙂

How true the first stanza but this one really got me:
    ‘Some sow smiles
    like Johnny planted trees.
    Others hurl thunderbolts
    of anger and fear.’
