joyfulJOYFUL

One dot from a pointillists’s brush,
starts the ripple in a river’s sheen.

Grab the energy of love,
fling it long and fling it wide.
Build positives and can-do-its
into mountains of hope.
Add a life-time partner
and work together
to pass it on.

Tending the bar today at dVerse, asking everyone to write a self portrait quadrille: 44 words – no more, no less; not including title. Stop by and see how folks paint themselves with words rather than a brush!  Photo Credit: Pointillism by NikkiNavaille.

I’ve been accused of being a Pollyanna – and that’s okay with me. Lover of life and love!

Yes, absolutely, Lil’–we choose our imprints, our aura, the emotional tenure of every moment; a very poetic portrait of one aspect, or two, of you. Thanks for hosting the Q at the Pub today.

DelightfulDELIGHTFUL! Last night I attended an event where an artist is on stage with musicians and paints to the jazz. The energy of his acrylics was infused with the music. That is the experience of reading your poem! You paint with such energy and joy 🙂

Painting with words and good deeds. …hmmm! Maybe you learned to do that by keeping your eyes on a master artist. Great imagery in your poem.

Pointillism–what a perfect metaphor for a lifetime and I love the glimpses of you I discover in the spaces between the dots.

I’ve been busy flinging it in the wooded Adirondacks since Wedensday — totally off grid. Woods, black sky with screamingly huge stars, quiet lakes. Back late last night so catching up with reading today! Thanks so much, Bryan. Glad you enjoyed.

Thank you, Rosemary. Have been off-grid since Wednesday. Returned to Boston last night so am catching up on reading and writing this early AM with my steaming cup of coffee near by. Five days in the Adirondacks: dense woods, beautifully serene lakes, the calling loons in the stillness of the air….was absolutely serene and beautiful. A different kind of calming peace from the ocean we so often visit.
Glad to get back to my reading and writing now.

Thank you so so much, Janet! I’ve been offgrid in the Adirondacks literally in a cabin in the woods since Wednesday, so just getting back to my reading and writing. So very glad you enjoyed this one. I think that can-do attitude is a critical one….especially as our bodies grow older and can’t do as much 🙂
