Difference Defined

bambambambambambambambambambambam
swing it round, this way, now that
bambambambambambambambambambambam

walk quietly in forest glen
seek movement in grasses tall
watch, scope, carefully

bambambambambambambambambambambam
blood spills, rounds and rounds
one load’s cacophony of death

deer and pheasant, field to table
smiling faces, club to grave

Quadrille using word “spill” written for today’s dVerse. Also written in response to the Pulse Club Massacre. Fact: same type of semi-automatic weapon used in the Sandy Hook shooting. There are reasonable steps that can be taken that do not dismantle the 2nd amendment.

Oh, Lill. YES. I SO agree. No one should be able to hold something in their hands that can kill that many people before someone can do a thing about it. Awful.

Let me know if you want me to link you up. I didn’t see your link yet over at dVerse. Happy to do it; just let me know.

Thanks — have been out all afternoon and out to dinner as I mentioned at the bar just now — so finally got linked up. Embedding the link on my post in a moment too.

Here in Canada, one can’t own or buy guns unless you are an officer etc. So I can’t appreciate why until now gun laws in the US are still open to anyone who wishes to buy them. Those guns are meant for the field and for war.

Seems wrong to hit “Like” here — I do appreciate your words here. Yes — we need to be hit in the gut about this issue.

Wow. Amazing writing. Seeing one of the phone vids from outside Pulse and hearing that pop pop pop pop…..my goodness gracious.

Just seems impossible that anyone would still defend their right to these assault weapons..

Exactly. Just the one step of banning these types of weapons and the magazine clips that contain for example, 100 rounds — at least it would be doing something. More checks on those who register to buy guns would help also — and banning those who are on the “no fly” list from purchasing guns too. So many steps that could be taken that would not trample on the 2nd amendment for law abiding citizens. May not cure all the ills — but could be a step and eliminate some future events like this.

The purpose of those guns lack any purpose except for killing people. But I guess that NRA thinks we should go armed to clubs in defense.

One side of that equation can be done without the other. As in, still allow law abiding citizens to purchase and “pack” guns (very different from what was used in this mass shooting) while taking steps to insure there is not someone else in the club with a weapon like this that can kill 50 people in seconds. The problem is that folks agains gun regulation refuse to see there are steps that can be taken while still outlawing weapons and magazine clips like this. Okay — done preaching. Except to add, it doesn’t have to be all or nothing.

My relatives hunted for food but I would not have a problem if guns disappeared from this planet. What a difference it would make in so many ways.

Interesting juxtapositions. You really capture the stupidity of shootings. That bambambam…is a little bit cheeky, though?

Tried to figure out how to get the sound of multiple rounds in a row shooting. Powwow pie or poppoppop just didn’t cut it for me.

    oh, Lillian –
    heartbreak
    savage tears
    confused love, misguided spirits
repetitive hissing machines that should not coexist in a world where insanity can sometimes grab a foothold or a heart

Tis time for action — not a moment of silence. Hatred spewing forth still — divisive rhetoric that is absolutely dangerous. Enough.

I often think of my brother in the FBI
I know what he goes through
he is one of the kindest people I know with the heart of a lion – concerned for all our folks on the front lines of this insanity
tis time for action is true
        I’ve never known ‘undivisive’ rhetoric

The contrast between the hunting for food and the hunting for human prey is chilling, Lillian, but I so appreciate your photo that almost begs that we come together in understanding, empathy and compassion for one another. Not to mention a change in our weapons law…

This is such a hot-button issue. It seems so simple though to just take these weapons off the streets. All I hear is a child’s tantrum, “I want my guns!”

Well….I think therein lies the difficulty….sane healthy people can keep their guns — just not automatic rifles and large ammo magazines which are only used to kill many at one time. Steps toward a better world does not have to include the total decimation of the 2nd amendment — simply sane steps to make mass shootings less likely. It does not have to be all or nothing — and unfortunately the all or nothing is what is shouted from the rooftops all the time. There is a continuum here. Thanks for the read and the thoughtful answer. You are definitely right – it is a hot-button issue.
