Passed Through Time

Centenarian rock
diamond set in golden rings
still shines the passion of youthful love.

Three generations of women
hands adorned in conversation
gestures through time.

My hand, etched with fine lines
like my mother’s
and her mother’s.

Ancestry defined by blood
through blue hills of vein
solidified in stone.

Thanks for this poem on what would have been my mother’s 90th birthday. And one of my younger sisters has the ring she wore and my grandmother wore.

Special memories…..happy birthday to the angel watching over you… Moms always do that…in this world and the next.

I’m so glad! 🙂 Am out of poetry at the moment, so the least I can do is enjoy the beautiful posts of others! Hope you had a lovely weekend xx

    Morning Lillian.
Hope this Monday morn finds you well.

Now about this wonderful piece of writing you’ve constructed. Veins are historical routes mapped into our very flesh as rings are the map markers of where we’ve been and where we’re going…connecting us to former and future generations.
Your poem here, reflects this in a subtle expression of love, acceptance and beauty.

    Happy Monday to you.
2 coffees now onto lemon water…

    am:)
I’ve been posting Mon-Thurs and taking Fri-Sunday off to make sure I’m getting art and writing accomplished. I’m working on a middle reader fantasy as well as trying to create new art pieces. I hope to send my ms out to publishers at some point in the next few months (could take longer). I feel a bit guilty for missing posts – for that I’m sorry…

What wonderful words you’ve shared about this piece…thankful I am.
Lemon water…..sounds refreshing once the caffeine max is reached 🙂
NOT to worry…..about “missing posts”. I remembered you set a schedule for yourself. So important to do that — and for exciting reasons too!
